A Gulch might be something as simple as a group of trailers parked on a common acreage or as elaborate as a luxury resort. It might be something unusual, like a group of boat-dwellers in a marina (where, BTW, people already have an admirable sense of community and mutual protection)

In some cases, the Gulch developer might provide all housing and simply sell, rent, lease or otherwise parcel out dwelling units to Gulchers. Hm. That sounds like another project for the rich, well-financed or ambitious.

In other cases, each person coming to a Gulch might be expected to provide individual or family housing.

We'd like to ask visitors to "build" this section of The Gulch. So we're asking:

What are the best types of housing arrangements for a free community?

Do you know of some good low-cost and/or quick to build types of alternative housing that you think might work particularly well for gulchers?

Anybody have any experience building or living in:
Yurts
Converted vehicles
Earth shelters
Earthships
Boats
Tents
Domes
Or other types of interesting shelter?
