Buying & developing a Gulch property

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: CREW PEOPLE WANTED: THIS MEANS YOU

Not all Gulches will consist of independent, standalone, purpose-built communities. In fact, we're assuming that most won't. The task of starting a Gulch from scratch literally from the ground up is daunting, and most successful projects we know of to date are being carried out for and by the wealthy.

We ain't the wealthy and probably most visitors aren't either. Can a Gulch be built from scratch by people of modest means? If so, what are some good ways to do it?

Inquiring minds want to know.

November 1998 we added an article covering different types of ownership [Owning a Gulch] and ways to develop property for an independent community. and we'd like to hear from anyone with comments and additions to that article, and other ideas, contact information, etc. on such things as:

Various visions for developing a Gulch (e.g. city, vacation resort, private ranch with guests, farm, rural property development, trailer park, etc.)

Low-cost gulching

Gulching within existing cities and towns

Offshore trusts and corporations as Gulch owners

Various types of group ownership and their ramifications

Various types of individual ownership (e.g. shares in a corporate holding vs. ownership of individual lots)
Ways to conceal ownership of property

Ways to develop a Gulch without calling undue attention to the project

Etc.
